Agenda 2030

Three-photo collage showing DKMS three pillars: On the left, a smiling man with glasses embraces a young girl in a white dress. This photo represents the first pillar 'Boost Stem Cell Donation'. In the center, a little girl in a pink hoodie smiles while standing right next to a woman in an outdoor setting. This photo represents the second pillar 'Access to Transplantation'. On the right, a female lab technician wearing green gloves and a lab coat places a stack of sample trays into a machine. This photo represents the third pillar 'Advance Research and Development'.

Always looking ahead

Our Agenda 2030 gives clear direction to our more than 1,500 colleagues worldwide. It includes our three strategic pillars: Boost Stem Cell Donations, Improve Access to Transplantation, especially in countries where our support is needed, and Advance Research & Development to improve patient outcomes.

“I see DKMS expanding its reach even further, operating in multiple countries and regions across the globe with the aim to increase both the size and ethnic diversity of our database of potential donors. This way, we can provide even more patients with a second chance at life.” - Dr. Elke Neujahr, Global CEO of DKMS
A female stem cell donor lies in a hospital bed during stem cell donation, smiling and talking with two women standing beside her. One woman, wearing a red dress and white blazer, is Dr. Elke Neujahr, Global CEO of DKMS Group. The other, in a white medical coat, is Prof. Dr. Kristina Hölig. The scene takes place in a bright and modern donation facility.
“To achieve this goal we aim to have 20 million donors in our diverse pool by 2030, be facilitating 12,000 second chances at life per year, and have reached 200,000 second chances at life provided by DKMS donors.”
Our Three Pillars
Our efforts to give as many blood cancer patients as possible a second chance at life are based on three pillars.
